Humphrey, formerly known as Macaroni, was the greeter for an election night party at the Zito-Slezak homestead in Free Union, Virginia.
It was a gathering that began in quite a raucous spirit. But as the night wore on the party got increasingly quiet. ![]() The hostess went to bed just before the Republican candidate was scheduled to declare victory.
